He won Rookie Of The Year that season. The Hornets were a new team, being founded only in 1988, but thanks to Johnson and his All Star teammates like Alonzo Mourning, Muggsy Bogues, and Dell Curry, the Hornets went from new guys to playoff contenders in a few short years. Johnson left the Hornets in 1996 for the New York Knicks and finished out his career there.
