His younger brother Ray entered the NBA two years later in 77, being drafted by the New York Knicks. While the brothers never played on the same team, they both had great careers in the league, with Gus winning a Championship in 79 and Ray playing with Larry Bird in Boston after leading the Knicks as team captain.
